Program: (tour sequence may vary)

  • Departure by 4X4 jeep to reach Salto del Guayabo (waterfalls) located on the Pinares de Mayari plateau in the Mensura National Park (a nature park in the Sierra Cristal mountains). Salto del Guayabo is one of Cuba's highest waterfalls.
  • Hike the 1200 meters trail through the tropical forest with pine trees and dozens of orchid and fern species. Over 140 bird species have made these forests their home, including Cuba's national bird, the "Tocororo".
  • Head to Cayo Saetia, one of the largest nature reserves in Cuba, lined with pristine beaches and covered with forests and pasturelands where herds of imported animals such as zebras, white-tailed deer, antelopes, wild boar, buffaloes, camels, ostriches, peacocks, and macaws roam freely along with native species.
  • Do a jeep or truck safari "African style".
  • Enjoy a lunch buffet with exotic meats at the restaurant overlooking the beach.

Suggestions on what to wear and bring:
Comfortable shoes and wear, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, bottled water, camera, cash in small denominations for souvenirs, drinks and tips.

Notes:
- Not suitable for people with reduced mobility and people in wheelchairs.
- Minimum age to drive is 18 years. Driver's license required (only for jeep driver). The jeeps have standard transmission.
- This tour is not available from Playa Covarrubias hotels.
